Shaun Fuchs' Vision
When Centennial Schools Sandton opened its doors in 2022, we set out to build one of the most relevant and future-focused high schools in South Africa. A school designed not around tradition for tradition’s sake, but around the world our students are growing into.
What became clear very quickly was this: by the time students reach high school, so much is already set. Confidence. Curiosity. Language. How they respond to challenge. How they see themselves as learners. Adolescence does not create these patterns. It reveals them.
That insight made one thing impossible to ignore. If we truly wanted to prepare students for the future, we had to start earlier, and we had to do it properly. In 2026, we opened Grades 4 to 6, bridging the gap between childhood and adolescence with a deliberately designed Intermediate Phase. In 2027, we will complete the vision with the opening of our Foundation Phase from Grades R to 3, a preparatory school built from a blank page, not scaled down from an outdated model.
Centennial Schools Sandton – Preparatory School’s Intermediate Phase is not an expansion. It is a redesign. A school created around how children actually grow, learn, and become confident, capable human beings.

Intermediate students are part of the wider Centennial Schools environment and benefit from key campus spaces that build balance, confidence and real-world readiness. They enjoy access to most of the High School’s facilities, with specialised spaces such as the Science Lab and Creative Hubs becoming part of the learning experience in the High School years.
